To receive a phone call past expectation where you have to stop everything to be with a loved one when they have a health scare is something we do. we all drop everything and are there once we are able...re-arrange our school and work schedules, and we present our love, emotional and physical support.
But what occurs when the emergency persists lengthier than we can let go of our employment, the obligations that we need accomplish in our own lives? We could do with a bit support ourselves as well as our needy loved one! Jeannie McCallan has dedicated a great deal of her time to helping not only her close relatives, but men and women all around the U.S. who are in need.
Our planet as we know it now would be very various if it wasn't for volunteers...natural, public, medical and health...there are definitely millions of volunteers, average men and women who offer a small or a lot of themselves and their time spent, to make others lives a bit more manageable, and help preserve our world for our young. Jeannie McCallan has been a part of many Meals on Wheels events. Meals On Wheels has been around for very long, and in so many diverse countries, that many of us seem to take it for granted, disregard that having meals out to folks who cannot do this for themselves is crucial to preserving independence in their own residences, whether they are people following medical methods who may need a backup service, or others that may need a more long term service.
The volunteers who bring meals to them become part of the team assisting them keep on being as independent for as long as possible. Throughout the years that Jeannie McCallan has been a part of Meals and Wheels she has had the pleasure of working with some incredible people.
Who can refuse the heartfelt tug when kids need backing recovering from cancer, and who can dispute the spirit of journey when bringing environmental causes to the notice of the "general public".
Meals On Wheels operates on people giving their time, to supply meals to people in their own residences.
A quietly standard but critical service. Some Government help is given to Meals On Wheels, but this is not a government service. Meals on Wheels depends on the charity of people giving financial assist the people power along with their vehicles to deliver the food.
That's MILLIONS of dinners made and delivered to people in their own homes, for a very tiny cost to them.
To go back to when we needed a little help to stay on our feet, and have a little liberty for ourselves or our elder or needier family, we can rely on many services that are essential; but frequently we give these services little thought until we want some help.
Would you do a job for nothing? We all work for some reason, whether it be a financial requirement, but there are other advantages for effort. It gives me good job satisfaction to work in a willful capacity, and a great reward to know that you are making a real change.

Many of our volunteers are maturing, some have been with Meals On Wheels for 30 years, but the requirement for services to help us to stay independent are increasing, not lessening, and we, Meals on Wheels needs more volunteers.
I would like to ask to any one operating from residence, or looking for a job...Meals on Wheels is not just a service for the aged, any person not capable to control the whole food thing, whether temporarily or longer needs to have this service available...Meals On Wheels is an dying breed, and needs conserving just as much as the rarest bird on earth!
