Following on from the twisted time loops regarding last week's premiere, it's refreshing to follow the Doctor and his companions into a more straightforward Doctor Exactly who story, albeit one that's only a bit metatextual. This is something that may likely be so obvious in the united kingdom as to be slightly worth mentioning, but might look at the heads of BBC America's 9: 00 PM audience. For instance most science fiction episode, Doctor Who is aimed squarely in the 18-49 demo in The united states, a crowd that can be unaware of how different the audience in the united kingdom is. They are terrorized through living dolls who turn trapped humans within own kind, and Amy himself becomes a doll. Unfortunately, the Doctor meets George's pops Alex, and investigates George's drawer, which seems to terrify him. It turns out that George is actually not a human, but an alien foster child who has used a perception filter to assimilate in to the lives of a several who can't have youngsters. When the Doctor starts up the cupboard, he and Alex find themselves in the same nightmare world as Amy and also Rory. The world of horrors continues to be created by George's fears, focused on the cupboard, and Alex is able to dissolve the nightmare world by reassuring George this he still loves him or her and accepts him in spite of his alienness. Everything is returned on track again.
