And using that, everything turns returning to normal. At daybreak our next morning, Mrs. Rossiter climbs out of your garbage, the Landlord wakes on the floor of the apartment and begins cuddling his dog, and Rory and Amy climb off the elevator, unharmed. Amy: "Was MY PARTNER AND I a." Rory: "Yeah. " Claire, George's mother, comes home to find her husband as well as the Doctor making breakfast as well as George completely fine. As being the Doctor leaves, the Dad catches as much as him with concerns about George's future. The Doctor tells him simply to treat him as a usual boy, and everything will probably be fine. He does, nevertheless warn him, "that perhaps it will pop back again close to puberty.always a funny time period. " George and his or her Dad then walk on their apartment, arm inside arm and happy.
The actual Doctor then meets upwards with Amy and Rory again, they board the TARDIS, and discuss where to search next. As they communicate, their dialogue fades available, and we hear the ominous singing with the Gigglers again:
"Tick-tock goes the clock.even for that Doctor."
The final shot is from the onscreen data the Doctor downloaded from your Teselecta last episode, stating when and where he as a result of die.
Developments:
Not a tremendous amount, really, save for reminding us with the Doctor's impending death from the last beat; this really was the definition of a "standalone show. " With that claimed, the alien Tenza/George's reaction and terror along at the word "Doctor" again works to the theme of the Doctor being considered to be a something to be terrified of rather then a figure of benevolence. The Doctor also spent a lot of time in the episode bragging about the amount of monsters he has fought and defeated, even though here her final role was like a healer rather than any warrior. Finally, though, following wardrobe change last 7 days, the Doctor was returning to his "junior professor" dress again. Possibly a meaningless change after a one time anomaly, but perhaps indicative with something more.
Impressions:
A superb "monster" episode in the grand tradition advisors, as well as something of the meta homage to the actual show's legacy of children peeking out from behind the sofa (or so, the bedspread). One thing I form of realized in this episode, though kind of by way of inversion, is that Amy and especially Rory will usually "suck up the oxygen" in several episodes and otherwise prevent some guest characters out of developing properly. Here, by trapping them inside the dollhouse early in this episode and giving all of them only brief cutaway clips, it allowed Gatiss to help develop the central dynamic using the father, son, and Doctor, making for an intriguing story along with a touching finale. It's an excellent change of pace out of what has sometimes been typical lately. Not a vital episode towards overall mythology of your series, but certainly worth a look without attention merits.
