We all love to sit on the patio. Some of us enjoy a good drink outside under this as it keeps the sun from shining directly down on us. However, with this being outside, it can get pretty darn dirty. So, if you are wondering what the best way to clean a patio umbrella is, you can learn about it right here.
The first thing that many don't know about cleaning their patio umbrella is that there are actually two portions on it that needs to be cleaned. There is the frame and then there is the cover which might also be called a canopy. Let's start with cleaning the frame. To clean the frame when you learn to clean a patio umbrella, there are the steps.
? Take each part apart.
? Wash it down with a clean damp cloth.
? You can use mild soapy water and then the clean damp cloth.
? Clean routinely then you won't need the mild soapy water all that often.
Now, the next thing you need to clean is the canopy. There are two methods to cleaning the canopy. The first method is like this:
? Open umbrella.
? Lay on clean towel.
? Hose top down.
? Scrub with clean cloth and soapy water.
? Rinse.
? Put umbrella back on base.
If you don't prefer this method, as we said, there is another method that you can use. This method is as follows:
? When you have Sunbrella fabric or Olefin fabric, you can use a commercial washer and wash it like you would anything else. You will want to run this on a delicate cycle. Make sure that it's made out of these two fabrics or it can cause some serious damage. We prefer the first method when you clean a patio umbrella. You can find these washers at hotels or even at the laundry mat. The hard part is taking it apart so that only the fabric is in the washer. We wish you luck with that as this is the reason why we like the first option.
These are ways to clean it. You just have to choose which way you prefer for the canopy. Harsh weather conditions can make this look pretty bad. For some of you, this might be your only hope to getting it to looking the way it did or at least resemble that to some degree.
